This calculator is designed for interior designers who want to make sure they are lighting their projects adequately.

Oh I hear you! Lighting terminology can sound a bit confusing, can’t it?

But it really isn’t that complicated. With our calculator, you just enter the size of the room, what you’re using the room for and how many light fittings you have, and the calculator will tell you how many lumens you need for each light bulb You can then go shopping for light bulbs – the lumens are always listed on the bulb’s packaging.

The lighting calculator is a Google Sheet, which is free for everyone to use. You do not need Microsoft Excel. When you sign up for the calculator, you’ll be emailed a link to the spreadsheet. This will open in Google Sheets. You simply need to make a copy and then it’s your to keep for forever!
